COVID -19 UPDATE

Important notice for all patients

Dear Patient

Our practice will be opening on the 18Th of June but we just wanted to be clear that this may not be business as usual. The treatments you are offered may be different to those you received before, depending on staff and equipment available. It will take some time before services return to what you previously experienced as normal.

Please be patient. Initially the face to face care we offer will be for certain types of emergencies only where we have assessed that this is safe to perform in the practice.

All potential emergency appointments will be triaged by the dental team over the phone and in some cases it may still be appropriate to refer care out to the Urgent Dental Care Centres which have been set up in the locality.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to the surgery. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it's both safe and comfortable.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We have made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our practice will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions and explain what to do when you arrive for your appointment.
  • All appointments must be arranged over the phone and you may be refused entry to the practice without a pre-arranged appointment.
  • We will operate a one patient in and one patient out policy.
  • Payments should be made by card where possible. Payments will be taken over the phone before the appointment or when the appointment is arranged.
  • We have hand sanitiser that we will ask you to use when you enter the practice.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you're offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

How you can help:

  • With the exception of children and patients with carers, patients should come alone.
  • Come with minimum belongings.
  • Please fill in all medical history and any other forms at home before you attend the practice or alternatively we may call you to fill this in over the phone. We may then ask you to bring your own pen to sign the appropriate paperwork. We are working on e-signature’s for medical histories and other paperwork.
  • A distance of at least 2 meters must be observed if another patient is present in the dental practice.
  • If you show symptoms following appointment booking you should contact the practice by phone.
  • Please do not arrive early to the practice and call us when you have arrived.
  • Please do not arrive without an appointment.
  • Patients should come wearing a mask or face covering if possible or be prepared to wear one.

Thank you for your understanding,

The team at Stonemount Dental Practice
